The ASB trip began with a great day in NYC, where students had a chance to hear two lectures about life in Ukraine and Poland. Afterwards we went to the pray at the Ohel and from there we were off to our first destination Warsaw, Poland!
We arrived in Odessa, Ukraine, got settled in our hotels and went straight to the Orphnage to get to know the kids and play some games with them. Later that evening we went bowling together - awesome time!!
After spending some time withe the kids at the orphanage, we went shopping to buy things to furnish/decorate the girl's orphanage. Afterwards we went to check out the 'Lager'; a resort where Ukarainien families can spend Passover for a subsididzed price, and heard from Shlomo, a native Ukrainien who told us about growing up as a Jew in the former Soviet Union.
Our first Motzoei Shabbos in Odessa we had a blast playing with the kids in the Orphanage. "Da" "Nyet" whatever russian we knew was just enough to have a blast!
At 10 pm after having an awesome time playing with the kids, we headed over to the gorls dormitory to decorate it with all the stuff we bought on Thursday! The girls came back and were so excited to see all the new furniture and stuff
Today we helped beautify a school by painting a mural and planting a bunch of rose bushes! It was allot of fun!!
